Hahaha! The story is definitely all too familiar. Make a few revisions, change some names, edit out the happy ending... and tada! It's the story of my life.
Hehe. Di naman, medyo lang. ;)
The ending's quite predictable, but going through the story was still fun. NBSB yata ako!
Yup. The job fair is definitely in heat. Literally!
Ang hirap pala mag-aaply for OJT! It costs a lot... (requesting for transcript of records, printing resumes, getting 2x2 and 1x1 photos, lots of photocopying, etc) That on top of the fact that you're walking under the 12 noon sun, trying to organize all those application forms, leaflets, flyers, survey forms... aaargh!
Meron pang konting fun and excitement, pero nakakapagod at nakakahilo talaga. Especially trying to remember what the requirements are for which company until what deadline, and so on... Minsan wala pa kaming break so rushed lang na dumadaan sa fair. Then we have to leave the class (Doc Tagle gave us a 10-minute break, yahoo!) just to go down and submit our forms and resumes sa mga pasaway na kumpanyang isang araw lang sa fair!
Most of the time, I went around the fair with Philip and Ken. We helped each other in signing up in the company booths for the nth time (half of the columns for me, the other half for Ken, basta may rotation!), and so we ended up memorizing each other's ID numbers, cellphone numbers and e-mail addresses. Astig! :))
One good thing though, we got lotsa freebies! Most gave away ballpens, but Accenture has a cool mini-flashlight, P&G has shampoo (haha), Unilever has facial wash, Lipton tea all day and ice cream! It's funny, the coolest freebies -- ito ang laging pinag-uusapan sa Faura Steps. (Speaking of that, napagalitan na naman kami ng isang prof dahil maingay kami sa Faura. Heller! Lagi na lang kapag free cut sa CS23! Blame Doc Mana! Hahaha!)
Btw, the testing for P&G was terrible... too much marketing stuff, and too much math!
Yep! After three years in college, I finally crossed over to the greener (?) side of the world: DLSU-Taft. Too bad, Jet wasn't able to meet me. Pinagpalit ang one-in-a-million chance to meet me in Taft para mamiesta sa Lipa! Tsk tsk.
I did get to see Tracy, and the unbelievably long-haired Toffet. Ang ingay nga namin nung nagkita kami, sa sobrang gulat. Haha! He couldn't believe I was there because of U Got Game (he's part of the Game Dev Committee). Or maybe he just couldn't believe I was there at all. Antagal ba naman. I think this is the first time I saw him after graduation. (At syempre tinanong pa rin niya sakin si ano.)
Anyway, I woke up very early so we (Ealden, Ken, Philip and I) could be there at 8am. And as expected, everybody else was late and we ended up waiting for quite a long time at McDo for the others to arrive (from UPd and Mapua).
We went to DLSU after eating breakfast, then waited (again) at the Goks Lobby for our identities to be verified (the guard is forever looking suspiciously at us!), then waited some more because one of us weren't on the list for entrance passes. It was when we were finally able to enter the hall when I caught sight of Tracy, and then Toffet in one of the tables.
The actual program was very short. (I was asked to lead the opening and closing prayer. Medyo nakakahiya, but then again I had the chance to say "Live Jesus in our hearts" again after a long, long time. So I guess okay lang din.) After that, Toffet eagerly gave us a tour around campus. Unfortunately, I saw no other familiar face while walking around. Si Jet kasi!
Then we had lunch at Munch Alley where Ealden took forever finishing his lamb chops... :D After eating, we went outside and tada! It was raining... All the others, except for us, had umbrellas! And they were going to a different direction, so naiwan kami dun. :(
After a while, tumila din yung ulan kaya nakalabas rin kami. Philip was staying, and Ealden was going somewhere else. That left me and Ken on our adveturous way back home. Walang payong, sarado pa yung bridge ng LRT1 to LRT2. Nakakapagod at nakakaantok. And what was waiting for us back in school: a 4-5 page paper in Philo due on Saturday. :((
At least we got back just fine... ;) At syempre nag-text si Jet nung nakabalik na kami sa Ateneo.
